Retrofit Roof Systems
A retrofit roof system is where an existing roof system is covered by a new roof system, saving on costly tear offs. There are steps that need to be followed for this to comply with current building codes, manufacturer warranties, and good general roofing practices. For instance, if the existing roof system contains large amounts of moisture, then a retrofit would likely not be a good candidate as it is never practical to trap moisture within roof systems.
Failing low slope metal roof systems are commonly retrofitted with new single ply roof systems
Failing low slope metal roof systems are commonly retrofitted with new single ply roof systems eliminating residual roof leaks cause by thermal movement. These are very cost effective over the life of the roof system as there is minimal demo work needed. With advancements in technology including induction welding, these systems can now be attached direct to the structural purlins meeting stringent wind uplift specifications ensuring a long serviceable life cycle.
